What is somatic therapy?

How will it benefit you?

Somatic therapy is a gentle, body- centered approach to healing that works with the connection between your mind, body and emotions. Simple practices like breathwork, grounding, body awareness and gentle movement help support your nervous system in finding safety, balance and calm.

People find that somatic therapy helps them feels more grounded, present and at ease in their daily lives. Somatic therapy helps reduce stress and anxiety, supports healing from traumatic events, and releases patterns of tension held in the body. People experience better sleep, improved emotional resilience, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves.

your practitioner: beka talbot c-istpâ„¢, reiki healing

My name is Beka Talbot and I am a certified ISTP™ practitioner and somatic therapist. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the nervous system, and helping others connect to and learn from their bodies.

I studied under Ratha Chek through the Somatic Studies Institute in Vancouver with additional training through Stefani Wilson at the Mandorla Yoga Institute. With the knowledge gained, I was able to open my own practice and share my approach to somatic therapy with others.

In a session with me, you will find a safe place to express with your body, and to learn tools to help reduce stress.

Supportive and therapeutic environment. I felt very comfortable and safe to express. Practitioner was effective in guiding me through the session and provided supportive listening.
